Counting Days

May 25, 2014

Jay Strother · Psalm 90:12

We see time as an enemy instead of a gift. Biblical wisdom teaches us to stop asking, "What time is it (chronos)?" Instead, it teaches us to ask, "What is this time for (kairos)?"

Timely Wisdom for our Crazy Busy (Summer) Lives:

We need God's Perspective (v. 1-11).  “…from eternity to eternity, you are God.”

We need Humility (v. 12).  “Teach us to number our days carefully…”
(see Eph. 5:15-17)

We need FAITHFUL _______________ (v.13-17): “Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us…”

Action Step: STOP-START-CHANGE: List out the activities of your week by category.

Of the items not necessary for survival, what would you STOP doing if you had a Psalm 90 perspective?

Of the items listed, what should you START doing because it will matter eternally?

Of the items listed, which would you CHANGE about your approach if you knew they mattered eternally?
